Curling is The winter sport for ladies and gentlemen
It is an extremely complex sport based around a very simple idea. Slide a stone down a sheet of ice and have it stop as near the centre of a set of rings (called house), the problem being that your opposition will do everything tactically to stop you from achieving this goal. So the principle in the game is to get as many own stones as possible to the center of nest - closer than the stones from the other team. So the game contains elements of great skill, strategy, finesse, exertion and endeavour and we promise you that the perception of a slow-paced game is just that, a perception.
At least 2 teams play curling on the ice in this easy and funny game that suits every one. The game can be watched also from Ice Bar - at the side of the course, some doping in form of a glas of wine or beer is also allowed and after the game you can have lunch or dinner (by order in advance) in the private restaurant Seita Bar at the curling center.

Eisstock - After Ski on ice
Eisstock is an easy but challenging team game that is played outdoor on ice in winter. The game comes originally from the Bavarian Alps, where it’s played almost in every village. The reason for it’s popularity lays probably in the nature of the game: it doesn’t require physical efforts and suits therefore for everyone but it takes skill and team work to win the game – so it’s a good choice for an outdoor activity for groups.Principal is to throw the eisstock on the course towards a small goal. Even the best of the shots in the beginning of the game don’t quarantee the win for your team. The game becomes even more interesting when the players after you are moving the goal or other eisstocks on the course. Two or more teams play on icecourse, minimum number of participants is 6 persons. Duration of the trip 1-1,5 h depending on the size of the group. Price 25 € per person. THE CALL OF THE WILD
We pick you up from the hotel, change into safari gear at safari club and learn the driving and safety rules. Then we follow our guide to the fells. The magnificent scenery of the treeless tundra changes into unhabited forest as we drive on well groomed snowmobiling trails. For lunch we stop at our hideaway cottage by a wilderness lake. There, sitting cozy in the glow of open fire and twinkling candles we’ll enjoy a true Lapp lunch, prepared on the open fire. After desert we’ll continue our tour back to Saariselkä. Duration of the trip approx. 4-4,5 hours. Price per person 135 € driving 2 person on one snowmobile, or 180 € per person driving 1 person per snowmobile. Min 6 persons, max. 40 persons.
Where is The North? ORIENTEERING ON SNOW SHOES IN THE NATIONAL PARK
There are 3 different control points in the forest to be found by the teams that the group is devided into. Walking partly in the deep snow or using easy paths the teams should find their ways to these points with help of their navigational skills using a map and a compass. Your guides will help you if needed to reach to control points within the time allowed but this isn't a racing competition since each control point has a different task to be solved by the teams. Some may require knowledge of the nature or team spirit skills, all are difficult enough to make this challencing but easy enough to make it fun. Duration of the trip 3-4 hours. THE WISPER FROM THE SNOWY FELLS
We change into safari outfit at the safari club; overall, socks, shoes, mittens, balaclavas and helmets. After a short driving lesson we head our snowmobiles to the treeless fells and snow-covered forests enjoying the beautiful wilderness scenery. On the way we’ll make a short coffee break by open fire in a hideaway cottage listening to the quietness of the wilds of Lapland. Duration of the trip approx. 3 h. SNOWMOBILE SAFARI FROM IVALO AIRPORT TO SAARISELKÄ
Meet your guide at Ivalo airport. Pick up of luggage, which will be transported to your hotel in Saariselkä. Change into safari gear and after short driving info we’ll start our engines of our snowmobiles that are waiting for us at the airport. Driving through snowy forests to our hideaway cottage on the way. where we’ll enjoy a tasty picnic lunch and continue then on snowmobiles over treeless fells to Saariselkä.

WILDERNESS DINNER
Transfer from Saariselkä to our Hideaway cottage by Pitkäjärvi wilderness lake. A delicious 3 course dinner in candle light guarantees a memorable evening. After dinner transfer back to Saariselkä. SNOWMAN’S HIKE
We start with our guide from the safari club and head to the National Park. Our beautiful route takes us to the hill Iisakkipää with a beautiful scenery. We walk in the wilderness of National Park, hope to meet wild reindeer or other animals. Snow shoeing is an easy way to enjoy both Lappish nature and excercise outdoor, the route and the tempo will be chosen to meet your wishes. Duration of the trip approx. 1,5 h. Price 35 € per person including guidance and gear. Min. 6 persons, max. 60 persons.
CROSS COUNTRY SKIING SCHOOL
We start by taking cross country skiing equipment from the safari club. With the help of the guide we learn to ski. Our professional ski teacher will learn you the tecnics as well for the basic or advanced nordic skiing either in traditional or skating style, the whole package with or without rental skis. For example

ICE SKATING
Rousette skating is a lively skating event. Every skater participating in the event is assigned a numbered rosette (a rose-shaped ribbon or bow), blue for males and rose or pink for females. The skater's task is to skate around the rink until the person of the opposite sex wearing the same number is found. Music and hot drinks include in this 1 hour ice skating break. Min 10 persons, max. 20 persons. Price 45 € per person.
BARK OF THE HUSKIES
We dress up warmly at the safari office and drive to the other side of the village, where the cute huskies are already eagerly waiting for the day’s exercise. After the driving school we step in pairs on the sleighs – one sitting in front as a passenger and one standing and driving the team of 6 to 8 dogs. Pairs will take turns in driving as the huskies happily take us through the winter landscape. We give the dogs a break and have a lunch by open fire in a wooden cottage behind Kuusipää fell. ON THE TRAIL TO A REINDEER FARM
After dressing up warmly for the safari and a short driving school we head our snowmobiles to meet a reindeer herder. We will drive through a snow covered landscape, first over the treeless fells with a view all the way to Russia and the trough the pine forest to a wilderness cottage for lunch by open fire. After lunch we continue in the forest landscape to the reindeer farm. At his cottage we will apart meeting his reindeers learn how to drive a reindeer! Every one who passes the test will be given an international reindeer driving licence. We are invited to his old cottage for a cup of coffee and will take part in a macigal Lappish ceremony. SNOW SKULPTING & CARVING
Snow sculpting has been brought to a fine art. Snow sculptures show how versatile material snow is Snow sculptures can represent anything, only imagination sets the limit. We are going to learn how to carve snow sculptures. Snow sculptor-teams will transform blocks of snow into dazzling works of art. For snow sculpting you will need at least an axe, a (chain) saw and a chisel. Also a lot snow is needed. It could be good to make some kind sketch for the sculpture. Then use your tools to sculpt the sculpture from snow. Together it’s lots of fun and a nice way to spend the arctic day! Duration of the trip approx 1-1,5 hours. Price 44 € per person. ARCTIC ICE GAMES
Curling Center Jääseita is the tribune for these joyful outdoor activities on s now and ice. The endless possibilities for different activities – you can try your skills in golf putting whole in one, skiing behind a motorised reindeer, snow shoe relay, tandem skiing, toboggan race or many more. Winners will be awarded funny Lapland prizes after the games. Duration of the trip approx. 1,5- 2 hours. Price 48 € per person. Min 10 persons, max. 100 persons.
SNOWMOBILES & HUSKIES
After breakfast departure for snowmobile & husky safari. We dress up warm in thermal clothing (overall, hat, woollen socks, shoes, mittens & helmets). Half of the group starts with huskies 2 persons on each sleigh (one driving and one person as passenger. We change the driver on the way so that every one can try out driving. The other half of the group head to the treeless fells on snowmobiles ( 2 persons on each snowmobile). After about 1,5 h drive the groups meet behind the mountains in spruce forest and have salmon soup as lunch by open fire in a wooden cottage.
Coffee/tea and bakery as dessert will also be served. After the lunch break the group change places, those who started with huskies take snowmobiles and vice versa and groups take about 1,5 h drive back to Saariselkä again. BROOMBALL TOURNAMENT
This the perfect way to spend some active time outdoor. An old form of broom was the besom, which was made simply of twigs tied to a handle, and was relatively inefficient as a cleaning implement but perfect to use in our tournament. A typical game of broomball is broken up into two or three periods with tactical hot drink breaks. On each team there is a goaltender plus other players, typically defenders and attackers . The object of the game is to score goals into your opponent's goal. The team with the most goals at the end of a game is declared the winner. We play on snow surface which of course makes this a bit of a challenge but also fun. Duration approx. 1-1,5 h. Price 25 € per person. Min 6 persons, max. 25 persons.
BRAVO RALLY - Drag race on snowmobiles
Built safely but as drag racing snowmobiles our old timer Yamaha Bravo snowmobiles are driven on a closed course on the ice of a wilderness lake. Now it's time to give gas and enjoy the racing spirit. This might be the Ultimate Company Competition or just a game to find out whose the quickest on the snow course. After the race either coffee or lunch by open fire in our Hideaway Cottage. This activity can be combined with a snowmobile safari of transfers from and to the course can be arrange with coach or minibus. Let us know the size of your group and the amount of free time and we'll plan the perfect racing day for you. Min 6 persons, max 30 persons.
FISHERMAN’S TRICKS
The safari club will provide you with everything you need: all necessary clothing and equipments as well as a short driving school. We drive on snowmobiles towards a wilderness lake for fishing. On the ice we spend the day ice-fishing. Our guide serves us a tasty lunch made on open fire. If you have luck in fishing we can prepare your catch also on the fire.
